The Hunter Heartbeat Methodology formed the basis of a long-term research project at Ohio State University, in partnership with the Nisonger Center (a university centre for the study and treatment of developmental disabilities within OSU). Research students at Nisonger charted the communicative progress of children with autism as they played the games and repeated the exercises within varying time frames deom 2011-2015
